A saying goes, Simple living, high thinking. Simple living, high thinking. This is a very meaningful saying. Both are connected to one another. Where there is simple living, there is high thinking. Where there is high thinking, there will be simple living. Both are very close to one another. High thinking is not a simple matter. Hight thinking means that you rise above your surroundings to think about the truth. People around you are human beings of various kinds. They discuss many things. If you think while you are in the midst of all these people, you will never have high thinking. You will have to rise above them. In an aeroplane, a person rises above the ground and flies 3,500 ft high. That is a higher level. A person will have high thinking only when he takes his life to a higher level. To reach a higher level, simple living is essential.

A simple life saves you from distractions. If you are distracted, everything will attract you to itself. You will be diverted by things. Simple life means to not live in luxury. Simple life is one without affluence. Eat what you get. Wear what you have. Use the furniture available. There is no excess. If a person leads his life without being luxuriant about life's necessities and is content with what he has, then nothing else will distract his attention. He will focus his thoughts on one thing. His thinking will not get distracted here and there. When a person trains himself this way, he will have high thinking.
